The Montreal History Group recently published Écrire la ville : Pouvoirs, urbanités et modernités dans l’espace québécois (XIXe-XXe siècles), an anthology co-edited by Camille Robert and Daniel Ross.

It brings together articles and chapters from collective works published by members of the Montreal History Group. Over time, the Group has devoted part of its resources to translating texts, initially published in English, in order to make them accessible to French-speaking readers. Brought together for the first time in book form, these translations offer an overview of the research themes and historiographical debates that have animated the Group for around twenty years.

The anthology is now available open access on Pressbooks.

With contributions from Denyse Baillargeon, Bettina Bradbury, Isabelle Bouchard, Magda Fahrni, Brian Gettler, Dan Horner, Nicolas Kenny, Sean Mills, Tamara Myers, Mary Anne Poutanen, Jarrett Rudy and Brian Young.
