Thomas Jourdan

Thomas Jourdan is a PhD candidate in history at the Université du Québec à Montréal under the supervision of Magda Fahrni, Daniel Ross and Yukari Takai. His thesis project focuses on transnational identities and nationalism within Japanese communities in Canada during the interwar period. This research aims to study the relations between the Empire of Japan and Japanese Canadians, as well as the variety of experiences of Japaneseness lived by the latter.

His M.A. thesis, Comprendre et représenter la Lettonie et les Lettons en France, une circulation des imaginaires nationaux (1914-1920), was completed at the Université Paris Diderot (nowadays Université Paris Cité).
