After being hosted by Écomusée du fier monde, the Droits en mouvements exhibition will be presented at Université du Québec à Montréal on February 13 and 14. Paul-Etienne Rainville, member of the MHG and co-curator, will take part in several activities, including the launch of a special issue in the Bulletin d’histoire politique, which he co-directed, and guided tours offered to groups of students and to the general public.

The exhibition retraces some of the great struggles for the defense of human rights that have marked the history of modern Quebec. Based on the history of the Ligue des droits et libertés (LDL), founded in 1963, it highlights the determining role of social movements, community organizations and several civil society groups in the promotion of these rights. It also highlights the activism of minority, marginalized or discriminated groups who, although often excluded from historical narratives, have been at the forefront of several major struggles for the protection of fundamental rights in Quebec. By shedding historical light on several contemporary debates, this exhibition aims to open a critical reflection on the achievements in terms of human rights and the systemic obstacles which continue to hinder their full realization.
